Massterly, the world’s first autonomous vessel operations company, proudly announces the opening of its Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Horten, Norway. This milestone marks a significant transition from the testing phase to full operational capabilities, solidifying Massterly’s position as a global leader in autonomous shipping.

Massterly, a joint venture between Kongsberg Maritime and the Wilhelmsen Group, has rapidly evolved into a pioneer in autonomous maritime solutions. The new ROC in Horten is a testament to the convergence of advanced technology and extensive expertise in ship operations.

The opening of the ROC is a major milestone in Massterly’s history, representing a giant leap forward for autonomous shipping. With the support of our owners and partners, including ASKO, Yara, and Reach Subsea, we are set to lead the maritime industry into this exciting new era.

The ROC will serve as the nerve center for monitoring Massterly’s growing fleet of autonomous vessels, ensuring seamless navigation, maintenance management, and safety control. This includes overseeing operations of vessels like the Yara Birkeland, ASKO’s MS Marit and MS Therese, and the upcoming Reach Remote, part of Massterly’s subsea division.

Pål André Eriksen, Senior Vice President Remote & Autonomous Solutions at Kongsberg Maritime, highlights the significance of this development: “Massterly's Remote Operations Centre in Horten is not just a control room; it's a testament to our commitment to shaping the future of maritime operations. Our collaboration has enabled us to leverage cutting-edge technology and industry-leading expertise, reinforcing Norway's leadership in maritime innovation.”

The collaboration between Kongsberg Maritime and Wilhelmsen has been crucial in bringing this project to life, redefining the standards of safety, efficiency, and intelligent solutions in the maritime industry.
